Welcome to our series... "Dracula: Where Is He Now?" Leah and Bri are periodically releasing parts of this series, which focuses on Dracula's one hundred years of film stardom, over the first half of 2022. Each part will thematically group pre- and post-2000 Dracula films.
In "Part Three: Dracula Remixed," we’re covering four remixed versions of Dracula. Not all of them are strictly comedic, but they’re all playful twists on Dracula that speak to the different points in time in which they were made. For this part, we’ll be discussing Blacula (dir. William Crain, 1972), Dracula Dead and Loving It (dir. Mel Brooks, 1995), and Hotel Transylvania (dir. Genndy Tartakovsky, 2012). We also couldn’t resist talking about Peter’s all-puppet Dracula musical from Forgetting Sarah Marshall (dir. Nicholas Stoller, 2008). Part Three is only one episode!
